We couldn't quite believe how quickly the last 30 days flew by. We had an amazing time in Vietnam minus the small annoyances in Hanoi. We didn't get to see some places such as Sapa and Dalat but like every where we've been it gives us a reason to come back.
The last 2 places we visited were Mui Ne and Ho Chi Minh City. Mui Ne is the mecca of water sports however we opted not to do them as they were so expensive, even a Stand Up Paddle board was $20 dollars for and hour, and considering Ryan spent more time swimming than standing it was a no brainer.
We had peaceful afternoon beach walks and also messed around splashing each other with water. The beach is meant to be amazing but we felt Nha Trang was nicer. It appears as if the beach front bars and hotels were trying to remodel the beach. We found a nice bar to sit in, Joes, in the evenings, mainly because it was cheaper than the cocktail bar next door. The 3 days we had there disappeared and we were then on our way to Ho Chi Minh City.
We arrived in the pouring rain so had to dart into the nearest bar so we could get the rain covers out. We picked a hostel and made a run for it, turned out to be full luckily the one next door had a room so we booked in for 3 nights. Whilst in the city we booked a bus to get us out and went to the war remnants museum.
The museum was interesting, it displayed captured tanks, had a small section to show torture chambers and devises outside the museum. Inside was all about the war itself. They cleverly showed it as America against Vietnam with lists of posters and pictures from different countries objecting to the war. The we're also pictures from journalists that were in the war of American troops. It also had a section about agent orange and various other chemical warfare tactics.
It wasn't a nice place to be in but was very educational so were glad we went in and it gives us a further insight into current Vietnam. We opted not to do the Cu Chi tunnels as we felt we had a better experience in Hue.
So to summarise Vietnam the major cities aren't that great but every where in-between is amazing. People like to know where your from and what your doing the next day not out of curiosity but in order to sell you something.
