Just got back from the WhitSundays - Wow! Saturday afternoon, 25 guests and 3 crew, (Scotty, Rob and Tom) departed on BroomStick (our 60 metre racing yacht) for our 2 night 2 day tour of the WhitSundays. On the first day we sailed to Hayman Isand. Here we all got to know each other a bit better by drinking Goon and helping out on the boat. For dinner we had roast chicken with potatoes and salad - yum yum. Had a great first night and met some awesome people especially Dave, Jon, Rebecca, Laura, Danni, Mike and Paul! The next day we were woken up at 6.30am for breakfast and headed to South Whitehaven beach where we went for a swim (in stinger suits) and saw stingrays and lots of beautiful fish. We also sunbathed and spent about an hour taking some great photos of us jumping in the air, kart wheeling and a few group one's too. The sand was so white and silky smooth. The view was spectacular - just like on the postcards. It was literally breathtaking! My photos don't do it justice but atleast they have come out well! After ham and salad rolls for lunch we went snorkeling in what is known as Tongue Bay (The Aquarium). It was amzing and so many fantastic looking fish. Unfortunately I cut my foot on the coral but it was worth it. Later that day, I helped winch the sails and drive the yacht - brilliant experience. In the evening we ate dinner - steak and mash yum yum and then chatted and played drinking games - Slap the Goon hehe - very funny. The boys nearly fell in the sea! On our last day, we were woken up again at 6.30am and went snorkeling in Baird Point. It was beautiful but wasn't as clear as the day before so couldn't see much unfortunately. The temperature of the water was 28c so that was a lovely warm swim. We could only have one 30 second shower on the boat so you can imagine that all we did was rinse the salt water off - bit horrible but also very funny as we were all in the same boat, excuse the pun! Sleeping on a boat in such close proximity to so many people was an experience but was rocked to sleep by the waves which was lovely. The crew were great and made sure we were safe, always happy and having a good time which was good. Had a brilliant time on the boat, loved the sailing, snorkeling and met some awesome people. Got back to Airlie Beach this morning and managed to have a proper shower which was amazing hehe. We are all off out tonight to celebrate our WhitSundays trip together - really looking forward to seeing everyone again.
