Subhojit What is common to Hemanta Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Ravi Shankar, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Kabir, Swami Sahajanand Saraswati, Annie Besant? In case you did not know (nor did I), they are all from Varanasi! Just came across a book titled People from Varanasi at www.uread.com

Katy Forbes Well I can't believe you have been married a year - what a lot has happened hey? Congratulations on making it so far - only a lifetime ahead but I'm sure you'll conquer anything life throws at you after your wondeful trip. I'm so sorry I have been crap at keeping in touch - I am now a fully fledged mother, step-mother and fat as pregnant lady yet again. Life is busy filled with making dinners, school runs, homework etc etc - these are my only excuses for being so lame. I am in Perth today and it's a shame you aren't here but we will catch up soon I hope. Keep having fun and I will write a proper email soon with all the goss that a pregnant woman with no social life can provide. Love and kiises Katy Forbes x

Dad Mmm well,,,,,, How are you guys going, great pics. Like the bike Ad,, maybe an entry in Fink Desert Race huh? All is well back here, been very hot , havent had much of a break with renovations and due to start work Tuesday.Yuk ! My next travel plans are for easter, we (Maurice, Stev and families, Marg Daz and myself)are all heading to Windalli Stn about 40km up stream from Menindee There has been big rains in south/west QLD and there is plenty of water heading down, so it should be good fishing and yabbies and plenty of amber liquid ha ha, Keep well and keep enjoying your travels. Uncle Carl Not sure if it is distrotion in the lens but the right hand tower block has a distinct "lean" to it. It reminds me of some of the tower blocks in Moscow. I think they were about 2 or 3' out of true by the time you got to the top floor

Carl Just love the big old bamboo shafted ice axes!! Think I still have one of those in the back of the garage. I see by the fact that you are not carrying much kit with you that it was a lightweight alpine ascent?
