Woke up at 7 to catch a bus from Auckland to Rotorua which arrived midday. After checking into our really basic hotel we went to the Polynesian Spa. There were 5 different pools starting at 36 degrees with the hottest at 42. They were very relaxing shallow rock pool 'baths' with a great view over Rotorua.

In the evening we attended a Maori village experience where the Maori tribe explained and showed their traditions, preformed songs and provided a buffet dinner that they had cooked in the ground!
