Now we're in WA time, but our bodies are still in Vic/SA time - we were awake early. We were on the road at 8am and stopped at all of the roadhouses along the way.
The lady in Caiguna said to check out the blowhole not far out of town. It looked like a hole in the ground until you stood over it. I was taking photo's and Merv went to have a closer look. It felt like a cool fan was blowing up from the ground, strong enough to blow my hair!! Amazing.
Then we were on the 90 mile straight - the longest straight road in Australia. There are undulations and trees so it's not as boring as it could be, but we were glad to see the bend at the end.
We had lunch at Balladonia and had a look at their small museum. Did you know that pieces of Skylab landed there back in the '70's? They have a huge piece on display. Fuel was 1.56/l.
Today we saw a couple of guys on practice cross country ski's, a tandem bike and a runner!!! I think they are all crazy.
We were keen to get to Norseman and looking forward to setting up camp for a few days so pushed on. The kismet trees, about 80km out of Norseman are amazing. There is a forest of them. Their trunks are red and the colour around them changes - it's a bit eerie. We didn't stop for a photo because I thought there might me more,..
We got to Norseman about 4 and booked into the pub and had tea there.
