Hiya guys! We?ve jus had a gorgeous breakfast and are now bookin a youth hostel for our nxt destenation online (Figueres, Spain) as we will be arriving late evening so need to ensure we have somewhere to stay
Yesterday we trekked all over Barcelona, we went to the maze, and had a race who could get to the centre first - Philippa won! A Level Georgraphy evidently DID pay off! The maze was gorgeous and we looked at the gardens surrounding it, lots of beautiful statues an greenery, gorgeous! We then went to Guell Park, took SO long to get up there, seriously thank god for the invention of esclators or we wud ave been doomed! It was lovely up there, saw some amazing views of the whole of Barcelona, we saw pieces of artwork designed by Gaudi - the artist, whcih was beautiful, we laid down to see the artwork on the ceilings and the mosiac designs were nice and colourful!
After this, we headed to see the famous Sagrada Failia, which lookd gorgeous, especially from the back of it, it was huge! Then we went to Gaudi house, which was too expensive to go inside, but we looked at the outside and it was full of different coloured mosiacs ... we spent the entire day trekking around on the tube to different destenations.
We finally arrived back at ours, checked in the youth hostels, freshened up and decided to treat ourselves to a paella night - in true Spanish style! It was delish, and the waiter kept giving us free shots all evening ' naughty, haha! Got back, decided to grab some sleep early. Next day, I woke up in a panic, I?d lost my earmould, ironically, I brought SPARE hearing aids, spare batteries, spare tubes, but I bloody forgot spare earmoulds, DAMN! So cant hearing anything at all atm! Mum - can u give it to Camilla to bring when she joins us in Istanbul? Text me if u need info.
Gonna aim to upload all the photos today, see if u can spot the ones who?ve had a bit too much to drink in Portugal LOL.. and ul see the amazing parts of Barcelona as well as the lovely statues in Madrid. Tonight after picking up the wonderful Laura in Bacrlona Stants we?re heading to stay in Figueres, which is very close to France, and on the edge of Spain .. Friday we aim to see Dali?s house, which Erika adores and then afterwards head to Southern France for the weekend to do some caving and hopefully horseriding - depends on the availability and time, but fingers crossed!
We?ll keep u updated, keep reading our blogs and feel free to leave messages of ur adventures in t ?UK
Much love,
Ali et the girls! xxxxxxxxxxx
