I woke up very early, i had to be at the Best Value Inn at 7am to meet for my tour! It took me about 20 minutes to walk there with my bags, this was the worst part of backpacking, lugging my bags around! There were 2 coaches leaving for Bass Lake, i didn't realise there would be so many people. It turned out that we were sharing the ride with people that had booked the 2 week California tour and then another tour which ended in San Francisco, so in total there were about 49 of us. The coaches didn't leave for another hour as we were waiting for a girl that had not been seen that morning. Literally, as we were about to leave Hayley, who we were waiting for turned up in a taxi and did the walk of shame, (good night then, i thought!)! We had a very long coach journey, we drove from Las Vegas to Bass Lake Lodge where we would stay for 2 nights, it was about a 9 hour trip with stops along the way for food etc. When we arrived at Base Lake around 6pm we were paired with room mates, mine was Sam, a girl from New Jersey! We were then put in a Lodge with another pair, once we all got ready we headed to a Lodge where we had pizza! I only got like 2 pieces as everyone else ate it all! It was really nice getting to know everyone, and it turned out that about 90% of the people on our coach were from Australia! (Contiki being a well known tour company in Oz!). We were given 10USD each earlier that day to get breakfast and dinner for the next day so Kara, Justine, Sam and I put our money together and got a load of food and even managed to get alcohol with the money left over! I turned in quite early as we have a strenuous day at a National park tomorrow.
