Well from one famous ozzy to another... we've seen our first Koala!! After hearing rave reviews we decided to hire a car and drive the Great Ocean Road.. people weren't wrong - it was gorgeous! Heather from our dorm room at Base Hostel came with us and we went on another road trip!! The drive was just beautiful and we stopped at Bells Beach and the 12 Apposols and some Apolo Bay (in a brand spanking new hostel which was more like a hotel!!) Someone told us to drive down a road to look for Koalas and we were so lucky as we saw quite a few.. and better still they were awake. (Koala's sleep 20hours a day though we were told this is apparently not because they are stoned - but so they can digest their food!!) But they were very very cute and we even saw a little baby one! After our 2day road trip, we headed back to Melbourne for a look around the city - which is just lovely. Most ppl we've met say they prefer Melbourne to the other big cities and its easy to see why - esp in 35 degree heat! But we had to leave melbourne (on an overnight greyhound - not so glamous!) and we're in Sydney which is rather glamous! Such a fab place! We loved Melbourne but do this we prefer Sydney. Mum you must tell Hilary that in our true tourist stylie - we got an open top bus tour!! It was really good fun. Sydney Habour bridge is lovely and although we didn't do the climb up it - due to $ anbd heat! we did climb the pillar to the left hand side from which you get some great views - and its air conditioned!! The Opera house was also fab! the cream sails aren't as clean as they look but we'll let it off for having cool toilets!! the house is fab though and they are little cafes around it with great views back at the bridge. We stayed at a hostel in Sydney which was massive but.. we had to share a room with boys! they weren't that bad though and we all went out to a GreenDay tribute night!! as you can imagine I was loving it!! The next day we went to the Sydney Aquarium! Despite my slight headache - obviously nothing to do with alcohol :) we had a fab time! I saw my first croc!! they are quite scary i have to admit!! and we saw some sharks!!! i stroked a baby one which was cool - Nik and Nosh weren't as keen though! We've left the hostel now though and we're staying at Nikkis Auntie and Uncles.. once again we've sooo landed on our feet!!! They have a lush appartment in a complex with tennis courts, swimming pool, spa, sauna all 10km from sydney in place called Concord (which is very nice). Once again we're being completely spoils with amazing food and wine and pampering!! Oh its soo hard this travelling!!! We had a amazing BBQ other night and went for a meal and the best ice cream in the world last night! i had Baileys and Choc truffle!! Tonight we're off to a famous pie stand by the habour.. .. so on that note i best be going!!
