Gillian's Down Under Travels
Katie, Julie and myself decided it was about time we had a wee break from work and went on our own little road trip.. who needs guided tours when all you have to do is hire a little car and head out on the road.... independent unguided tour begins!
We hired little shelia(thought this was a clever little name) , a tiny little blue car which had air con.. what a blessin!! ) julie got to be the driver.. she wouldnt let me have a shot incase i gave her points on her licence hee hee!!
so we got up early on Saturday morning (4th august) and left Cairns about 8ish. We drove up the whole coast,north up to Cape Tribulation and port douglas! The sites up north are amazing! You wouldnt believe how beautiful they are unless you saw them youself, the photos dont do them justice!
We went to all the beaches on the way up and got many many photos including us jumping about little nutters at the back of 8 in the morning on a deserted beach to then be seen by a real aussie lifegaurd!We went to Yorkie's Knob, Clifton Beach, Kewarra Beach, Palm Cove, Thornton Beach, Cape Tribulation Beach, Port Douglas and.....and mayb a few more!! Honestly there were so many!
We had an amzing day out, lots of laughs and photos and generally had a great day out with two great girls! only thing missing was Zoe!! Yip, our other Caravella girl who was unable to come as the lucky devil got herself a job in the gorg snowy mountains in New South Wales and was leaving early hours of sunday so she had lots of packing to do... so since she couldnt raod trip it up with us we decided to take her to the airport, i mean we did have little shelia until 8am so may as well make use of her eh and she was filled extra full with petrol (thanks katie)! So got ourselves home about 10pm ish.. after stopping for KFC ... went for a little snooze and then up again to take Zoe to airport at 4am! She looked so exicted! Hope she stays safe and keeps in touch with us all!
On sunday morning..... shelia had to be taken back.. bless julie who set her alarm and took her back herself without waking me and katie!!
