Queenstown To Wanaka, New Zealand

From Queenstown we went up a very steep hill known as Crown Range road, conservation scenic area several lookouts along the way , up the mountain and down the other side to Wanaka, a town on the edge of Lake Wanaka. This is our overnight base. Our camper van spot backs onto a sheep farm and steep mountain side. This is a photo from inside as I blog !!!!

We walked through the town which used to be a gold mining area, now it is an adventure playground. We took the gondola ride up the mountain whew what a view , picture shows Queenstown in the valley and the beautiful Lake Wakatipu.

At Queenstown hoped to get wifi access at Library, but not available. The Rugby Sevens were on in town so very busy !! This is a charity event held over two days. Very well supported.

Took the SH 94 to Lumsden and at Five Rivers turned on the 6 Mossburn Hwy windy road through a ravine. Passing through Kingston the road was parallel to the steam train track .

Woke to find the other camper vans had already moved on so we had breakfast and left the deer farm campsite, Dave ran about four miles around the farm perimeter last night a very tidy farm and clean campsite.
