Weekend in Blenheim.
WOW wow and more wow. This is defo the life!! Left Christchurch after work on Friday for the 4 hour drive to Blenheim (in the new celica that made it no probs), turned up to stay with Dot's sister, whom as a total surprise to me lives in a beautiful big house surrounded by 300acres of vines! Waking up saturday morning was a treat to open the blinds and look out to the beautiful greenery and mountain backdrop. We were kean to head out wine tasting at the various wineries, and there are plenty to choose from! In all we visited half a dozen, tasty all varieties of wine available, however I stick to the Sav (love it).. Feeling rather tipsy after all the tastes (and as if i would spit out decent wine) our day got even more interesting as enjoying lunch in the blazing sunshine we noticed one of the judges from Strictly come dancing, Craig, who is in New Zealand filming a similar program dancing with the stars. At first he seemed to be rather arrogant, but got chatting and he was lovely. Well i had to act the star struck teenager and get my photograph taken with him! We ended up in 3 different wineries with him and his boyfriend, so yep wine tasting with the stars, arnt I a lucky girl. Saturday night we sat outside and enjoyed more Sav and a BBQ. Not to much of a late night tho as we were up nice and early to get out on the sounds in the boat. Again a total surprise as the boat was luxary. I even got to take it for a drive!! They keep the boat in the harbour village of Havelock, which is a good half an hour from Blenheim. We were very fortunate to have great weather allday, so caught some rays whilst we tried to catch some fish. My first decent catch in New Zealand was a blue cod. Catching it was no problem but i couldnt touch it or kill it. Caught numerous types and plenty but they all had to be thrown back in as it seemed we were in the nursery and they were all under size. Fabulous day, enjoying a full cooked brekko and lunch with more Sav on the boat. Shame the weekend had to come to an end tho and the drive back to Christchurch on Sunday night. I loved the lifestyle they have in Blenheim, finding it all very romantic to wake up everyday in such a beautiful setting, and taking the boat out every sunday, defo the life! A real fairytale that I would love to live, so mayb if anyone reading wins the lottery ;-) or when I retire as a millionaire haha.
Life in Christchurch.
Sorry have not updated since Pops left NZ, just not been much exciting happening as I have thrown myself into work. Working 2 jobs, aswel as being the company accountant I am also a barmaid in the local working mans club, which is all good fun, but means everyone I seem to meet is twice my age haha. Settled in well and loving the lifestyle, I am even back at the gym. Very excited and couting down to this weekend, as you will all be pleased to know the partners in crime are being reunited as Karen will be leaving Hamilton tomorrow and arriving in Christchurch Friday. Yippee. So the stories of all the mischief we get upto will soon follow, we certainly have a lot of catching up to do.
Miss you all lots tho, it has been 6 months since we left now. Time certainly flys.
Keep the messages coming. Much Love. Gill xxx
