Okay, let's not be too harsh on Paris....the architecture is very pretty but just needs a good wash. The jokers out there will say that applies to her ladies also..... We head on to Gare De Lyon Station, which is a bit more like the Paris one expects..a grande facade and quite impressive inside. There's plenty of street theatre to watch as the security guards round up the peddlars....elsewhere the army are patrolling the station with machine guns and polite well...

Well, well, well......after leaving the corruption of Brussels, we head south through what once were the fields of Europe's dreadful Great War. It looks bad enough after a warm summer. God knows what they went through. The northern towns and villages outside of Paris looked similar to our small Welsh hamlets...but upon entering the Paris suburbs...it appears that the devil does indeed make work for idle hands...in this case it's graffiti.....and wecome to all you...

Up and at them this morning around 8am... A quick shower etc and we're good for another Continental Breakfast.......it's boiled eggs, Edam etc..... We dont have much to do today..we need to get to the Central Station to head to gay Paree....Our feet are not good after all the walking over the last 2 days, so we opt to cheat the Amsterdam taxayers by jumping on a tram. We think you have to buy oyster type cards to use them.....but no one checks if there's any Brit...

Up bright and early it's a continental breakfast of salami, edan knobbly knees, rusks, OJ & coffee. As we're staying in the Museum Quarter, it would be rude not to visit the Van Gogh Museum - free to locals but 15 Euros to the great unwashed....that'll be me then. Grant got in free after I lied about his age....tut tut. That said it was a very interesting museum with a large collection and the history of how Van Gogh attained his style. Looks like it was hard...

We arrive in Amsterdam Central around 6pm....we're greeted by noise and traffic chaos. The Central Square is blighted by construction of a new subway connection. The locals aren't happy about it either...it's been going on for a while apparently. Our internet guide tells us to hop on tram number 5.....we see one and run across the road..Grant jumps on but the doors close on me..and off Grant goes.....oops, Mrs. Gibbs wouldn't be too happy if she were here.
