Greetings from Istanbul. it took a while, but finally we arrived. The bus from Pamukkale took 13 hours, the longest bus ride I've ever taken. There's not a lot you can say about a 13 hour bus ride except that at GBP21 each it was excellent value, there was a waiter service, free snacks and soft drinks. It was now about 8.30pm, so now what do we do? The local taxi drivers come up and start asking us where we're going . They ask why dont we take a taxi........well, number one it's going to be lumpy but they are willing to negotiate, this takes 15 minutes and come to an agreement, they'll charge the same as the bus fare for both of us plus 20 Euros. The Mytilene pulled into Karlovassi Port and we got off. There were no buses there and we had the feeling that we werent in the right port to get the ferry to Kusadasi on the Turkish mainland.
