Hey all its the adults here.
We have had an amazing day at Laxmi Road. First we took a rickshaw to the market place! WE SURVIVED! We have decided the rickshaw puts alton towers to shame! At the market we bartered with the tenders to buy produce. Krys, Lynne, Dawn and Claire managed to purchase. 11 garlic bulbs for 10 rupees which is the equivalent of 10 pence. We also found bananas are very rare!
You have heard of Diagon Alley, we managed to find Bangle Alley! And guess what they sell? BANGLES they were lovely, bangles in every shade and colour you have ever seen. Wendy was a little offended when they shouted `big sizes` and she thought they were referring to her bottom! But they meant the size of the bangles! Then we headed to a bindi shop and saw millions of bindi's
Then the last stop was the sari shop! WOW! There were hundreds of colours, shades, sizes, styles and materials to make both sari's and punjab's. We all purchased a sari or punjab or both! Later in the afternoon we would have a visit from the tailor.
Lunch was in a restaurant. We got to the restaurant by indian public bus! Again another contender alton towers resort! After a buffet style lunch trying some different indian delicacy (mother rainbow- lyndsey tried EVERYTHING!) We headed by bus back to Sangam.
The tailor arrived and measured us all of our punjab's and sari's. They have been taken away an will be back ready to wear tomorrow evening.
We played `who wants to be a WAGGGS millionaire` and The Super Silly-Us won and got a million pounds!
The final activity of the evening was Warli Painting. We were taught the skislls then had the chance to paint our own. Watch out families we have created 15 christmas gifts!
Just sat chilling eating typical indian snacks... cadbury chocolate, minstrels and sprite
Sangam word of the day- kitna which means how much
All having an amazing time
See you soon
