Other than my ramblings, I will quickly update our progress. After Berlin , we visited Wolfsburg and the VW Autostadt, wound our way down the magnificent Rhine gorge with a castle at every bend, visited the Kloster Erebacher, the 11th century monastery where all of the interior scenes for The Name Of The Rose were filmed, visited Stuttgart to see the Porsche and Mercedes Museums, and spent some time in the Schwarzwald, the Black Forest, cuckoo clock land. Germany was wonderful with friendly very organised people, quaint villages, fantastic scenery and fast cars. Tonight we are in Pontaubert in the Burgundy Region of France and will be in Versailles tomorrow and Paris on Friday. Amazing what a difference 400 kms makes in Europe as this place is so different physically and culturally from this morning. Thats what makes travel worthwhile.
Just about ready to head for home as missing our kids, grand kids,(hence the picture of Jace) family and friends, but looking forward to Paris. We have an apartment on the left bank arranged through Air B&B and it should be very nice. Spoke the owner last night and we can be in by midday so can make the most of Friday afternoon and evening in the City of Light.
