7th jan- today we headed to meet sophie ( who was a gap year student at OBH) and her mum at their house and head to the country to a small village called Mudgee (aboriginal for nest in the country) it took us 3 hours to get there, it was amazing to see the countryside change as we left the city. It was so remote and very dry, they are in the worst drought for 100 years. we arrived at the house and we were given a tour of the land. that night we had our first barbie in australia!!, they had the mos amazing views, the house was on top of the hill and you could see for miles.
8th jan- we woke up to an incredible view over the valley and had a country breakfast of bacon and eggs, we then went into Mudgee town which looked like it was a film set out of an old western film. we then went to several cellar doors (vine yard) and tasted wine that was all locally made, it was very interesting.
