Prague= The entire city looks like it has come from a book. It seems like every building has been freshly painted. The roads are full of tourist and souvenir sellers. In prague the castles make it really special. The prague castle was started in 920 and parts of it are still around today. The castle itself was renovated many times depending on ruler. Each ruler also added to the castle making it incredibly hard to see it in one day, so I spent two days in Prague castle. For a castle it seemed very plain. I blame it on the many reconstructions and fires that have caused the castle to seem very plain.
Night life here=FUN.
The first night we went to this very well known Tavern called U Fleku. The wait staff has specific duties. One has to carry the beer, one is the guz walking around asking people if they want shots, and a couple are for food. THe rule at this place is that you must have beer first then food. This beer has been brewed since the 1499 and it is still very popular. Tak, from our last hostel, said that the beer was one of the best in the world that he has tasted. I must agree, that it was AMAZING. The food was amazing as well. It was the best meal I have so far in Europe. The food and beer were followed by music. I had so much fun at this place that if they did not make you pay in cash I would be there the entire weekend. I also enjoyed the part where the waitor made fun of Nick and his smoking. I thought it was hilarious that he was miming Nick.
The second night we went to the Opera. YES the Opera. It costed a whole 3 or 4 bucks american. It was my first Opera, but it was beautiful. THe Opera was Carmen. The performers were so talented. When we first got to the National Theatre, Nick was laughing because he thought the pillar was in my way. When the Opera started it was the opposite, so he could not read the words in English.....so he had no Idea what was going on in the Opera for the first half. I laughed so hard at him.....I sure showed him. :D I was a little dissappointed with the ending, but I will not ruin the show by telling yöu the ending.
I went to purchase a hot dog. I paid my money, but the hot dog man said wait. There were three guys behind me. Each ordered the same thing, yet I was served last. I was so mad. I just dont understand his reasoning for his behavior besides discrimination.
Nick is hilarious. He woke up at 5:30am to take photos of Prague. When he got there his camera died. He goes ¨home to charge it and when we go shopping.....he realizes that he still cannot take pictures because he has no memory.....hahah poor guy.
The yellow market in Prague was basically like a flea market. The second we bought something everyone kept asking us to buy more so we quickly exited the market.
At night we went to the same beer joint that Bill clinton and the President of Czech went to drink. The people looked at us like we were lost, so we left after we tasted the beer.
Next city is a 22 hour train ride for a day trip in Venice.
