Greeeetings from Thailand
We've been here for a little while now, and are ABSOLUTELY loving it!
Arrived in Bangkok safely, and had a good flight and all that jazz.
Checked into our HOTEL... which was amaazzzzzing. SO nice after the really sank hostel we were staying in in Melbourne!
Spent 2 nights in Bangkok, did A LOT of shopping... we are SUch girls. Met up with P'Piew and Jay which was awesome and they showed us around too. Had coffee in a cup, Mango sticky rice and corn on the cob from the markets which was awesome!
SO had fun in Bangkok, it nice and hot here, which makes a change from how cold Melbourne was.
Got the overnight train up to Chiang Mai. Wow the train is amazing here, compared to India its insane. (we still love india trains though, they will always be number one!) but they were girnormous,i pretty much had a double bed to myself on the bottom bunk and slept for 13 hours which was fabulous!
Arrived in Chiang Mai in the moning and were taken to our hotel, checked in. Then went to a tiger place, where you could play withall the tigers. So Kat and i opted to play with the baby ones.. which were So gorgeous. That was a lot of fun, and it's not everyday you get to play with 4 or 5 baby tigers!
Went to a night market here, which was so good. So much stuff to buy. We ended up with shoppers guilt though after buying so much stuff... but it was still awesome.
We went on a one day Trek yesterday, so went to a waterfall (and got to swim in it!) then went to 2 villages where we saw silk scarves being made which was really cool and there were 2 little girls who lived there who were so cute, so we bought braclets off them.
Then we went elephant riding, Kat and I had the naughty elephant, who refued to follow the group and just went off on her own course, with her little baby (SO so sweet) we got to feed them bananas, and ours (Beau) was SO greedy! But that was amazing. There was one elephant there, that was ABSOLUTELY GIRNORMOUS. I have never seenanything so big. Its leg was bigger than me in height!
Next we went bamboo rafting, which was loads of fun. Kat got pushed in by our Guide, which was hilarious. And then she couldnt get back on the raft... and then later she just jumped off it to get to te bank and didnt realise it was so deep so like whackedher boobs against the side of the bank. IT WAS SO FUNNY. i'm dying of laughter now just thinking about it.
But it was also VERY scary, a guy was dying on the raft next to us. And thankfully we had a medic on our raft, so he jumped off and saved his life. It was so awful. Me and kat were like WHAT DO WE DO WHAT DO WE DO. SO just prayed, and thankfull the guy was alright. But it was so scary. And after having loads of fun before and messing around quit a lot, we realised that it was actually quite dangerous. So us sat down holding on for the rest of the journey. But thank God he was alright.
Then last night we went to another market, but didn't buy anything! We were so proud of ourselves :)
And went out for a loveeeely meal then for some drinks, with the guy we had met earlier.
Now just waiting until 7pm to get thebus backto Bangkok so we can go don to Samui...
Prayers that i don't feel travel sick would be verymuch appreicated... its a LONG JOURNEY!
loveeeeeeeee
