The Crazy Adventures of Gemma Jean
Hey Guys!!
Welcome to installment number two!! Now, although I feel there is a demand to be witty I have to admit that try as I might, I may fail to reach expectations but here we go...
So, I left you all in Taxco where I spent a considerable section of my budget on silver but hey ho. From Taxco we journeyed to Wahaka (Not sure if that`s spelt correctly). It was a full day on a bus but was worth it!! In Wahaka there are of course more ruins but there is also an absolutely fabulous Cathedral with ceilings made of gold. Now, I`ve taken some pictures but you couln`t use a flash and it was dark so not holding out that they will turn out masterpieces! In fact you won`t see them at all yet as I still haven`t gotten to grips with these stupid computers...doesn`t help that all the instructions are in Spanish or that all the keys on the keyboard are mixed up!!!
Anyway, enough of my rant, we had yet another fabulous Mexican meal last night and grudgingly prepared to embark upon a night bus!! My aren`t they fun!...Oh, talking about food, did you know that the mexican food we get in England is none other than the American version of what Mexican food should be?! I haven`t had one hard Taco or any mince meat, it`s all corn (not flour) tortillias and beef steaks, not mince. Oh how we have been fooled!!
Right, back to the story. We arrived at San Christobel this morning...me and my honey mooners! hehe, and immediately after checking in we were back out and on a boat down a canyon. No doubt it was beautiful (got some good pic`s there too) and we saw crocks, but to say that we were doing possibly the best immitations of zombies would be putting it mildly!! It didn`t help that out boat ran out of petrol in view of our destination, to only then proceed to float in the opposite direction!!! I now have sunburn, which I did not want...just yet anyway.
Ok so now we`re back to present time and looking outside it appears sunny and warm. The rest of my group are napping but not for me!! Oh no..the Ashby Lads have taught me well,'sleeping is cheating` so I will now proceed outside to continue to read the `Da Vinci Code'(thanks for lending me the book Neil) and to drink Cafe Con Leche...check me out?! For those who can`t translate it`s Coffee with milk, that`s right I`m drinking Coffee, wonders will never cease.
Han...So excited about seeing you now!! Can`t wait to introduce you to Mesca, the much stronger cousin of Tequilla!!
Carol...don`t worry about Greg, we all live and learn.
Hey, I've managed to get the pics in the photo album again, I might not be that bad after all!!!
Until next time....
