Got up and was out of the house by 6am. That must be a first. I caught my plane to Johannesburg which left on time. Windhoek airport is very very small and had very little to do to while away the time. I was also fairly apprihensive about my new travel plans and how I was going to met this unknown character who is supposed to be looking after me.
The plane landed and I had very little issues with emigration.
I found the train station and aquired my ticket successfully. I then mounted a train to Sandton where I was told that I would be met.
I waited and I waited and after about an hour of sitting outside the station I was beginning to get a little worried.
Just across the road from the station there was a hotel so with my heavy bag this was where I head with the idea that I maybe able to sweet talk them into letting me check me emails to try and find out what is going on. They were lovely. I was allowed to use the internet and then to phone so that I could get hold of Claire and find out wo was picking me up and when.
Eventually Thato finally arrived. He is an ex student of Tiger Kloof (the school that I am going to go and volunteer in). He was a remarkabout guy and was incredably kind to me. His cute flat is in Granston in Joburg which was the other side of town. The bus service was very good and worked probably better than the british services!
The evening was lovely drink wine and eating a simple meal of pate salad and toasts.
