We got up early ready to catch a bus to Khao Yai national park north of Bangkok! We booked the minibus through a local travel agent, the journey was long and we kept stoping for locals to get out of the minivan! We finally arrived after 4 hours, we were dropped off right outside the national park where we took the opportunity to take some photos and soak in the jungley atmosphere!
We tried to call a cab but no one could speak English, luckily a guy with an American accent was close by and said he would give us a lift to our hotel once he had dropped a few people into the park. we were thankful and waited for him outside the park. We waited for about half an hour when a couple of young Thai girls stopped and asked us if we wanted a lift, naturally we jumped at this offer and got in. They had a sat nav that typically took you the long way round , through windey lanes and bumpy roads! Finally we arrived at Sasima moonlight villa resort! The staff were so friendly and did everything they could to help with booking tours and taxi's! Our room on out first night was amazing, large double bed, a sitting area and large bathroom with drench shower!
The next day we were booked on Bobby jungle tours where we would be trekking though the jungle looking for animals! We were picked up early at 7.30, our group was full of young German kids and myself an ry felt a little old! Once we arrived at the first view point we were told that we would be with another group! We were put with a lovely Dutch/English family who were very welcoming! We also met our guide Arnold! Who was smaller than me, very funny and had a slight crush on ryan!
We started the tour in the jungle car, we soon had stopped and our new jungle friend Arnold had excitedly jumped out of the car as he had heard some gibbons! We were encouraged to join him in the search for gibbons in the jungle! We headed into the rain forest listening to the sounds of the gibbon and were lucky enough to find them playing in the trees! We left our swinging friends in search for some other animals! It wasn't long before we stopped again to find some more gibbons and monkeys Swinging in the trees we took plenty of photos and videos of the little dudes before we headed off for the jungle trek with our new friend Arnold!
We were given some leach socks(bright blue and did not go with my outfit) next was the trek through the jungle! Our tour guide was very enthusiastic about the animals and local plants and other wildlife, however he kept disappearing into the woods for the loo, or as he put it to 'find the cobra' it wasn't until after a few of these cobra stops we noticed that our guide became more and more enthusiastic about the trip and started to smell of whiskey....he was waisted!! So we were left in the hands of a very tiny Thai drunk man! As he continued drinking his sight appeared to be effected and he developed a huge crush on ryan telling everyone in the group how sexy he was and kept grabbing his man breasts!! Ryan laughed but was feeling uncomfortable!
After the trek and not finding any animals we went off to a few waterfalls which were amazing and can be seen in the pictures (haew suwat waterfall) We then started our return to the hotel! We were all chatting in the back of the van when little Arnold shouted ' Elephant!!' Thinking he was joking, as he had been doing this all day we casually looked outside the van to see a herd of about 15 elephants walking towards us, two baby girl elephants protected by their mother and other elephants! Then another family of elephants behind! We were amazed, naturally we grabbed the camera and took as many pictures and videos as we could! We were so close to them! What an absolutely amazing experience! Feeling shocked and emotional we headed back to our swanky villa for a nights kip!
