Well where do we start???We've had the day from hell!! First of all if u have ever seen home alone when they run through the airport to catch their flight...well that was us yesterday. It may have had something to do with my (charlotte) detour to the Mac counter of course!
We arrived in bali late last night and immediately saw our airport transfer waiting to take us to our long-awaited "bungalows by the beach". Whilst on our journey we had potential (as we were quite boldly told) asian boyfriends....erm no I think not. They suggested maybe we might at least want to try it the asian way (the words "helllllllllllll no" came to mind, N.B LOCK DOOR AT NIGHT (strike one). As it was dark we couldnt see much so we as the rain cam down, suprise suprise we were escorted to our room. I opened the door to see a lovely sprinting spider in the room which had obviously got in where their was a foot of wall missing on each side (strike two).
We woke up this morning, despite the fact we felt like we were back in the jungle, eager to go and see the beach and start working on our tans. Beach?!HA!! Try concrete nightmare, Portsmouth beach is in fact somewhere where I had preferred to be (strike 3). Unable to hide my disappointment I flat out refused to stay where there were perverts, spiders and a concrete beach. Gemma came round to my way of thinking after about 5 seconds so we set about making new arrangements. We phoned our next hostel destination and told them we would be arriving NOW not next week. So we made a quick exit and checked out, and after a 2 hour drive we got to seminyak. We are now not in the ideal location but its 100 times better and are able to get to a decent beach in 5 mins and plan to move down to kuta beach next week. As a treat and something nice on our last night I've booked us in to the Hard Rock Hotel, where we each have a queen-sized bed....very excited. Im sorry but I cant help myself!!
Hopefully going horseriding on the beach at sunset in the next couple of days :) how romantic!
Love from us both
PS Gemma is very happy now as bali is definatley a surfing town, and wants to have lessons and APPARANTLY reckons we're going to hit the Roxy store...........we'll see!
