The caption to the picture should read "Boy, they sure built'em funny back then..."
We made it to Pisa. After a LONG walk from the train station to the other side of town (with our packs on) we came upon this strange tower that seemed to be leaning over to one side, to my absolute amazement. I have seen pictures of this wonder but to actually see this in person is fantastic. To be honest it was leaning way more than I expected.
After Graham and I took off our packs we had some fun taking neat Pisa pictures. Graham then wandered off to find out how much it was to climb the tower. It turned out to be €15 each and we both felt it was a little pricy. Oh, and Jill decided she didn't want to climb it with her pack on!
We then hoofed it back to the train station - and by hoofed, I mean sprinted through town all because we had a train to catch. That, and Jill wanted to earn her strawberry-chocolate gelato :-)
All in all the tower was an amazing sight. And we thought Venice was sinking....
Now we are off to Cinque Terre. We are looking forward to seeing the Ligurian Sea AND to seeing Danielle and Todd!!!!
