Hello everybody, i am now with jaime coles and frankie walker as well as henson, and we are heading down south to see mount cook etc for 5 days thereabouts. We are then travelluing in jaime's car up to the north island by car, whiich will work out much cheaper for us as we didnt buy the car! yey
LIfe is good here, in the last two days i have spent a lot of money, but i wont be spending a lot for a while so all should balance out in the end. heres what we did
The day before yesterday we went to a fench port called Akaroa, which was fantastic. We booked a jet boat tour, and the boat basically was tiny but had two tractor engines on the back so went seriouslyy fast, we saw some wicked caves from the water, and the picture that goes with this blog was taken by me! we also saw some dolphins, even though the guy didnt have a licence, which was cool as well. At the end of the tour, the guy spun the boat at about 70mph a few times which was amazing, and nice and extreme! a good day all round.
Ah, and the day before tta we went to see the one day test series against the blackcaps (ve england of course!) and although we lost it was a fgood day out, althuogh charlie and i got seriously burnt and are peeling a little as a result.
After akaroa, we went to waipara to do some wine tasting, which was surprisingly good fun for someone like me who tends not to drink wine a lot! Now I have bought a bottle of the mud hut's ( which is one of the places we went to that day) sauvingon blanc 2007, which i thought was a fantastic white wine! its being sent to longstowe for whoever wishes to enjoy it, along with two books. Sorry there is not a card in ther, but i was in a bit of a rush. Its got a lovely elderflower like taste to it, and isnt to acidic either. I hope someone likes these wines enough to try it, but youll see when you open it it is well reputed as far as merchants and awards go.
We went to three vineyards in all, and youll have to look at the photos to get a real idea of just how breathtaking everything was, but we had lunch at one vineyard, which was amazing, and was so much fun. A must for anyine coming out here in the future!
I hope all is well, and although the writing isnt detalied, i wouldnt do the photos justice, have a look and see for yourself!
Hope that life in Cambridgshire isnt getting too difficult, and hope to speak to you all soon xxxxx
lots of love as ever,
George xx
