Well this is it blog, our very last morning in San Francisco and indeed the good old US of A, this holiday.
When we got up we decided to use the pool and whirlpool which was located in tower 3 on the 16th floor. The pool was lovely and warm and we spent a while in there before heading to the whirlpool - we couldn't fathom out how to use it, however a man put it on for us - apparently the button was over near the exit! Watched some humming birds in the palm tree nearby - it was an amazing sight to see their little wings going so fast it was a blur, tried to take a photo but once I got the camera out they disappeared!
Went back to our room to pack our cases for the very last time this holiday. We just about managed to fit all the cases in the "convertible" and then headed off to San Francisco Airport for our 6th and final flight this holiday.
I want to thank Gaz my hubby for a wonderful 5 week holiday of a lifetime to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary - we've had an amazing time and we've seen more than a lot of people see in an entire lifetime including 2 cruises, 3 helicopter flights, wildlife - whales in Alaska, bald eagles, seal pups, humming birds, Gaz saw a shark; some of the fabulous scenery we have seen includes: a glacier in Alaska, the awesome Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Lake Las Vegas, the beautiful islands of Hawaii including Kauai (my favourite!) and its amazing waterfalls, Waikiki beach, Kona and the wondrous volcano and waterfalls in Hilo, the cities of Seattle, Las Vegas, Honolulu, San Francisco and Vancouver, the little towns of Alaska including Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway, seen some fantastic sun sets, we've also seen places such as Alcatraz and the inside of lots of Ross Dress for Less shops! (Sorry Gaz - hope you weren't too bored…!). We've met some facinating people from all over the world, we've eaten far too much and drunk even more but we've had an incredible and fantastic journey and have many many wonderful memories to treasure.
We are now sitting in San Francisco Airport waiting to board our Virgin Atlantic plane (drinking cold beer - just for a change!!!) and we have more wondrous things waiting for us at home - our three gorgeous kids, beautiful Granddaughter, Son in Laws (or is it Sons in Law??) and or course our p**** cats! I've missed them all so very very much! I can't wait to be home now to give them all huge hugs. Bye for now - until our next adventure…….!
