Woke up this morning around 8am - Gaz asked me if I'd heard all the commotion around 6am - I hadn't - he said there was a flare out in the sea and the ship slowed right down to almost a stop - a plane had circled several times over the ship and then one of the lifeboats was launched - whilst all of this was going on, Gaz looked down and saw a shark around 5 to 7 feet long just swimming next to the ship - unfortunately he didn't photograph any of the goings on. We later found out that someone needed some medication which was not on the ship so they had flown it out, dropped the packages in the sea (hence the flare) and the lifeboat had been launched to go and collect it!
Went for "help yourself" breakfast, and then spent a couple of hours in the pool and sunbathing, it was very hot today. Met a couple from Essex, she could talk for England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales! Ha ha
Went back to the cabin and got changed, bought a pitcher of beer and headed to the "Disco Quiz" - got 35 out of 40 and came JOINT FIRST!!! Whoo whoo! We won a "Ship on a Stick" YAY! Went afterwards to the Geography quiz - didn't fare too well so we won't talk about that! Ha ha.
We went back to our cabin - quite humid outside and misty for a while. Had a few drinks on our balcony and I updated the blog. Saw loads of flying fish in the sea and quite a few birds - wondered if there was a pod of whales around as they usually drive the fish up but sadly didn't see any. Gaz went off to get some ice and came back with a turkey, mayo and salad ciabatta roll each - yum! (and ice!)
I am soooooo excited I cannot believe tomorrow we actually get to Hawaii!!!!!!!!!
