Well here we are in in true surfing and backpacker country, Byron Bay. And we've found computers that work, so we though we'd make the most of it and do a quick blog
Byron Bay is a laid back, cool hippie kind of place, with a good campsite, if you look at the new pics you can see the type of accommodation.
We did another 400 kms from South West Rocks to get here and you can feel the temperatures soar .. now into the early 30's and the sea is warm! But we will have to watch for sharks again ( or Gary will) as I never venture in further enough to get my face or hair wet.... But his is now armed with a spear gun (new toy) and he caught 4 fish, but again, they got away when we he was putting them in his fish net. He is too chilled out perhaps.
I am keeping tabs on his 'toys purchase total', aiming to get my own back soon in Bali. The last straw came when he was enquiring about sky diving and I reminded him sky diving = designer shoes and handbag, but he said he was enquiring for me not him (having checked the insurance policy no doubt...).
Unfortunately we have worn out the tent and we are waiting here for a while for a replacement which is being sent by the manfacturers , the fly has disintegrated now and it looks as though it's been pitched in a war zone, due to all the patches in it. We laid there the other night (listening to the birds, which are worse than noisy teenagers with ghetto blasters, bloody birds) and a twig came flying down and put one almighty rip in the top. So we spent the rest of the night looking at the stars and praying that it wouldn't rain, which thankfully it didn't.
Well we think we have clocked up about 16,000 kms now in the whole trip, which is the same as alomost a trip to India by road, so Dee and Gary's Walkabout is now one big driveabout. But it's great out on the road, looking for that next place to stay and wondering where the next place will be like....
Take care then, we will be in touch when we find another computer.
Lots of love Dee and Gary XXXXÂ
