Sunday the 10th we visit the Wellington Vineyard Church. There we happen to run into our repatriated Kiwi friends Nick and Rose Baty and their two wonderful children, Moses and Isaac. Without hesitation they invite us for a BBQ and offer us a bed for the night. Having endured or camper-van for a few days we jump at the offer. It's a wonderful day in Wellington, we visit the waterfront (very nice) and Nick gives us a tour, showing us Wellington from some pretty spectacular viewpoints. This is a city I could live in.
We end the day taking a twilight walk through the Wainuiomata Scenic Reserve, a gem of a place just sitting there in the middle of Wellington. if this place and Richmond Park had it out, Richmond Park would get it arse kicked. That night Ruth and I lie in our comfortable beds reflecting on whats been a fast paced and hectic first week on the North Island. Tomorrow we take the ferry to the South Island. We expect great things.
