This must have been my worst journey to date. I couldn't get comfortable. We were driving thought the Rockies up and down mountains in the dark. The bus driver was all over the place & he had his window open. I was sat close to the front and it was freezing. Some nut job guy was sitting in front of me and eating sunflower seats the same way Roger Rabbit eats carrots! Everything was getting on my nerve and I was tried. Oh and one other thing, the bus driver kept stopping. I think I must have only had a couple of hours sleep all night. The weather got worse during the journey. Heavy rain for a lot of it, which lashed down on the bus.
The journey seemed to go on and on, I was so happy when I saw a sign to Vancouver that said 48 mile away. The only problem with that is we stopped at 3 more towns before we arrived. When we arrived in Vancouver we got off the bus and the weather was horrid. Dark grey clouds and raining! Where had the sun gone... It's been out the last 3 weeks.
Our hotel was only a 15 minute journey away in down town on Granville and Davie. I'm getting pretty good at map ready and working my way around these bloody grid like streets. The bus driver told us yeah, I'll shout you at your stop, however he forgot and we had to walk back a couple of blocks. It wasn't to bad as it had stopped raining.
Neither of us had eaten since the pizza the night before in jasper. I had seen a restaurant that we had both been missing just up the road from our hotel. NANDOS.! You should have seen us as we ran to Nando's! The menu wasn't the same, but it was so good. We were both hungry so I think anything we ate would have been amazing.
It started to rain again so we walked up Granville towards the shopping centres. There are a lot of theatres on this road, and with the Vancouver's International Film Festival going on they were all really busy and people lined the streets. The shopping centre was big and had a couple of shops I love including Hollister, couldn't resist on spending a little money on some sale items.
Had some great Chinese food in a small place around the corner from our hotel. It was the best I have had so far and cheap as well. It had pretty much rained since we have arrived in Vancouver. I'm really hoping the weather is better tomorrow as we want to go to Stanley Park. After a bad night last night on the bus - I was ready for bed after dinner. I was shattered and I was asleep after I had counted about 3 sheep.
