After five days in pai, we headed back to chiang mai for a night before taking an overnight bus back to bangkok (we ended up bungee jumping on our day in chiang mai aaaaaahhhh).
The bus was horrible, so cold and we could barely sleep so we were exhausted by the time we were got to bangkok (7am). We spent the day shopping for a few more clothes and bits and pieces, then got yet another overnight bus and boat to Koh Tao, an island on the east coast of thailand.
I really loved Koh Tao, its famous for diving and is the cheapest place in the world for open water diving courses, so obviously we joined in and did a three day course- it was amaaaazing, so hopefully we'll be able to dive in fiji :)
We then spent four more days on the island chilling on the beach bars, snorkling... everyone on the island is so laid back and friendly, it was such a nice atmosphere, with reeeally good food.
Next we travelled to Koh Phangan which is known as a party island, we went to a pool party which was exactly what you thought an american pool party would be like, and we also went to the famous half-moon party in the jungle, where everyone wheres neon and paints their faces and bodies, it looked amazing in the dark with uv lights.
As the part of koh phangan we were on wasnt that pretty, with not much of a beach, we went and stayed the night at a place called bottle beach on the north of the island... it was so beautiful, a tiny cove with lots of resorts, practically had the beach to ourselves and everyone that worked there were so so friendly and kind.
We then had THE worst journey to Khao Sok national park, a boat then three different buses which one of them broke into our bags and stole money!!!! Nothing too major but still annoying.
Khao Sok was incedible, we went on a days lake tour and trek to a cave, where we had to swim with head torches, then walking back to the boat it started to monsoon, walking through a river in the rainforest, in the pouring rain!
We're now on an island on the west coast of thailand called Koh Lanta, weather hasnt been greeeeeat and its really quiet here, there is only one other family at our hotel, but when the sun is out we have the pool to ourselves.
Lots of Love

Mum and Dad (j&k) Sounds amazing! We can fully understand what it's like with no air con or fan. We did that for one night in a tent and one in a room. I think I am too old for that! Your journeys sound exhausting. Sounds like you are having a few days of r&r on the quiet island. No bad thing probably. Love you Mum and Dad
