We woke up again at 3 am this morning- still from jet lag!!! But... We slept in until 11:32am unaware of the time! We quickly got ready and went for a walk to find some breaky. We went to the German markets which was delicious. I had potato soup with a hot chocolate with whipped cream!!! It was amazing! Then we walked around the streets and went to millennium park. Millennium park had ice skating, which we are going to do tomorrow. Next to the ice skating, there was a little pile of ice. Jack was standing on it and I wanted to go over. So I started running and as I got on the pile of ice, I started to lose control and nearly fell over flat on my face into the cold, hard, ice. Mum was dying of laughter! Anyway..... We kept walking and we walked down to Navy pier. It was beautiful! There were no boats though because they were all taken out so that they didn't break if the river froze. Then we stared heading back to our hotel because we had to get ready to go to Larry and Paul's (Dorothy's friends). Once we were ready, we decided to hail a taxi instead of just asking the front office if they could call. It was funny watching mum hail a taxi down as they we're ignoring her. We finally got one and inside there was a TV. The taxi ride was pretty good. Once we arrived at Paul and Larrys house, we had cheese and biscuits while we talked by the fire. Then we had pasta with tomato sauce, chicken, sausage and salad. It was delicious! Then we had vanilla bean gelato with raspberries! It was amazing!

The markets were a real highlight. Chicago is an amazing city- must come back. The magnificent mile is truly magnificent (especially with all the Christmas lights)
Dorothy- Larry hasn't changed a bit. He and Paul have an iconic 'Brownstone' home 10 minutes from the city. Beautiful architecture and wonderful company. They truly spoilt us, hosting a delicious/fancy dinner.
