Disney Magic Kingdom
What a beautiful day we had today at Magic Kingdom. It didn't disappoint-and bought back memories of 7 years ago at Disneyland LA. It was certainly a different fun with teenage kids in tow this time! Josh Gaynor works here and he showed us around and took us to some rides in the morning. We then shared lunch with him before he started work at Hollywood studios. It was good timing as our fast passes began for three of the rides- including my favourite buzz light year toy story. Paul and Jack's favourite ride was splash mountain. Isabelle's was house of horror ride. Dinner was ice cream sundaes while watching the fabulous parade down Main Street, followed by the light show and fireworks. This was the best part of our day-so beautiful. We snuck in a couple more rides before the 10 o'clock closing then home to bed exhausted!
Air boat swamp ride - Wednesday
Today we ticked off one of Paul's wishes. We drove through the beautiful country side about an hour away to Kissammee. There we went for an hour long air boat ride on the river/swamps to look for alligators. We saw lots of babies, some mums and a big daddy! We also saw a huge bob cat (feral cat) and many birds that live on the lake. The bald face Eagles were huge and stunning to look at. It was great to experience and we were all glad to do it. The old lady, Cathy who runs the attraction was a delight to talk to. Her slow, southern accent and manners seemed to draw you into her. It was funny as she had called us the day before the booking to check we were coming and three times during our drive to the swamp to see how we were going on the freeways, turnpikes and roads (we did wonder what we had signed up for at this stage). I had her on loud speaker just so the kids could hear her sweet voice and they had to try not to laugh. It turned out to be terrific and there was another young couple from Texas who did the ride with us-great accent too.
On the way home, we had lunch then Paul and Jack dropped Issy and I at the shopping outlets for some retail therapy. Issy managed to get her converse shoes and I scored some tops and a pair of work shoes. Gee 2 hours went by fast. The boys came to pick us up and as they were in the rare mood for shopping and we still had some steam in our tank, we went to Target to shop. Issy finally had her turn to navigate as I'm still enjoying the back seat. She did well-no wrong turns. Jack not happy he was bumped to economy though! I love target here-some nice clothes and cheap too. Paul got jeans and Jack got some shorts and jumpers. Issy picked up a cheap pair of sandals too. Hopefully there will be room in our bags! A late dinner of toast and tea and a bubble bath. Another terrific day.
