When you go to Japan one of the first thing you will notice is the vending machines. They are literally EVERYWHERE. Around every corner there will probably be at least one if not 3 or 4. It doesn't matter if you are in a neighborhood or in the city, you won't have to look far for one. These will be your lifesavers in the summer because there is a lack of drinking fountains here. It's also easy to spend A LOT of money on getting drinks from them. I suggest carrying a large canteen with you or a couple of water bottles with you if you are trying to save your change. The drinks generally don't cost much but when your constantly buying drinks like I am it adds up. They have a huge variety of different drinks here. It seems like they have much more variety than in the US where most vending machines have the same type of drinks. Here the vending machines are all different, so have fun trying out some new Japanese drinks!
