The day finally came for us to embark on our adventure - some 2 years in the making. Sydney would be our first stop!
After lots of hugs, kisses and a big "BBPPPPPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!", we made our way down to the plane. You will note I didn't mention 'tears' - these came once we turned our backs and realised it would be some time before we saw our family and friends again (plus, I couldn't bear to let mum and dad see me cry!!).
Tears soon turned to smiles as we took off. The flight was pleasant (bar the takeoff) and within 4 hours we touched down in Sydney.
My sister, Kat was waiting for us at the gate. Was soooo good to see her and her fabulous new fringe :p
By way of background, Kat recently bought a new house and a new puppy (another Boston Terrier named Boone). So, as you can imagine we were so excited to see this little boggle-eyed ball of cuteness and the new house (and to see Millie, of course, Kat's other Boston. Oh - AND Jimmy, her hubby!).
Cute is an understatement! Measuring some 20cm and weighing just over 2kg, little Boone is amazing! Millie (get it? Mills & Boone?) is still getting used to him. He is always giving kisses and snorting (yes! Snorts!! Haha Jeanette will understand!).
Whilst playing with Boone and cleaning up minor piddles, Tim and I realised we had LEFT OUR NEW CAMERA ON THE PLANE! Great start. Lost Property would not be open until 10am the following morning. Would it seem dodgy making a claim on our insurance policy on the first day? Well, we may need to. Oh dear.
We had dinner at Teriyaki Boy, a little Japanese restaurant in Balmain. The Kingfish Carpaccio was delicious (as was the Pinot Kat and Jimmy bought!)! Then, in true G&T style, we bought 30 cent cones from McDonald's and walked around Circular Quay. Yep - 30 cents! Perth gets jipped! They're 50 cents over there, aren't they?
It was quite beautiful, seeing the Harbour Bridge and Opera House all lit up. In fact, it was just special being with Kat and Jimmy.
I cant believe we're only going to be here for 2 nights :(
