Kratie, Cambodia
Staying in the small town of Kratie, just opposite and alongside the Mekong River... we travelled 4 hours from Kompong Cham (is one of the longest rivers which crosses through Cambodia into Laos. We took a boat to go and see the Irrawaddy Dolpins, and guess what I had so many glimpses of the elusive dolpins, they look more like a paurpoise, so elegant and peaceful... sadly only about 75 now survive in the world, but before the Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot came and hunted them, there were 1000 left...I feel honored to have been able to see them (Rob Pring take note - I finally saw dolphins!) We then went and swam in the Mekong River, which was a gorgeous break from the intense heat..... (Now is the hottest time of year, and April is the hottest month)
