Our trip was really busy on days 3 and 4 which is why I did not have a chance to update you all on what we were up to. On Thursday(Day 3) after deciding the weather was going to cooperate we headed to Enchanted Rock. We climbed to the top of Enchanted Rock and had a chance to look at the amazing view from the top. It was a fantastic opportunity to see the beauty of the Texas Hill Country. We then went into Fredericksburg for lunch and to visit "The Pacific Combat Zone"."The Pacific Combat Zone" is a living museum mockup of the South Pacific jungle, a hospital area, a cemetery, and various planes, ships and guns used by both the USA and Japan during World War II. Our tour guide did a wonderful job of showing us the various parts of the museum and making it interesting for all of us. After we got back to the Flying L we were taught how to line dance. It was a lot of fun and an opportunity for this teacher to learn A LOT from his students. The kids did great! We also saw a number of deer on our way back to the campfire.
Yesterday, again the weather was on our side. We went horse back riding in the morning which the kids really enjoyed. It was very special to see the scenery of the Flying L while on a horse. Then the kids played in a water park. It had become warm enough that the park was very enjoyable. As you know, after dealing with traffic, we got back last night about 8pm.
On behalf of all the chaparones, I thank you for letting us take your kids on this trip. They were extremely well behaved and made our jobs easy. They learned a lot, we had a great time and it was a fantastic few days. Thanks again!
