Phew! Made it ...
What a surreal cab ride from home!!! The cabbie was rather hardcore in his approach to getting me to Heathrow within the time he guaranteed me he would. Unfortunately, having left home at about 3:40pm and being told that it would take about 56mins to get to the airport, I arrived at 5:07pm, a full 47mins later than quoted!
This was probably due to the fact that the cabbie didn't have enough fuel in the car, so we were forced to make a detour in order to fill up!
Anyways, I arrived safe and sound and have checked my bags in. The lady who served me was very professional and efficient and I now have a seat over the wing, ensuring that I have enough legroom. Yay ;-)
Now I'm sitting in Cafe Rouge enjoying a cup of Earl Grey before heading through the Customs section to wait to board at 9pm.
My flight leaves at 10pm and we fly trough the night and a good portion of Thursday, landing in Kuala Lumpur around 6:20pm.
I have this sudden sense of excitement and feel like a kid in a candy store with all these sights, sounds, tastes and other elements of Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau to explore. There have been a couple of additions to my itinerary that have been last minute, like going to Genting Highlands or to Penang or to Malacca.
I can't promise that I will be able to update this blog each and every day while I'm touring all these places, but I will do my best.
Well, I best be getting back to my Earl Grey tea ... Will be drinking Jasmine Tea starting from tomorrow, so looking forward to that.
Glad to be leaving the gloomy, grey, cold and wet weather behind and heading to hot, sunny, sometimes wet!, weather. ;-)
Hope to update y'all again soon.
Take care.
Ciao,
Michael
