School is out and we have arrived in Christchurch! We got here yesterday afternoon.

The customs people in the airport in Wellington nailed one of the girls in our group for having a mandarin orange in her carry on that she didn't claim. They accused her of trying to harm the environment and gave her a $200 fine.

Last night we just had dinner and went to the pub, Saints & Sinners, which is attached to our hostel. We watched the New Zealand vs. Australia rugby game and the crowd got pretty intense. I guess it was a big match!

Today we took a Gondola ride up the Christchurch county side. It was very cloud, but there were still some great views of the city and harbor.

It took us hours searching for a company that would rent us a 6 person van for us to travel around in the rest of our time here. It is holiday season and everything seems to be booked!

We are heading off tomorrow in our "people mover" and going to Hanmer Springs where we are going to soak in some hot spring pools!
