We have wrapped up our opening part of our trip and leaving for our host families soon.

We just spent a couple nights in Brisbane and followed that up with a night in Surfer's Paradise and last night in Byron Bay.

We didn't do much in Brisbane - we went to XXXX Brewery and got 5-6 free beers each! The tour wasn't what I was expecting, but the beer was good. That night we also went to the bar below our hostel to watch the Queensland vs. New South Wales rugby game, none of us knew what was going on though! We also went bowling. Yes, bowling in Australia!

The next day we went to Moreton Island. There we went sand surfing and tubing. We also walked around the beach and looked at a lighthouse. We had a flat tire that wasted about half hour of our trip and on the way back the van broke down so we had to spend a hour in a BP truck stop. Very fun...

In Surfer's Paradise we just spent the day on the beach! At night we went to some night market's and I have been sick the past couple of days so I stayed in at night and slept like 14 hours.

Yesterday we came to Byron Bay and went kayaking with the dolphins. It was alot harder than I thought it would be! We saw some dolphins and turtles in the water and it was pretty cool. I would probably never go kayaking again though.

We are leaving soon for Lismore where we will meet our host families! Then we are in school for 2 weeks before heading to New Zealand and Fiji!
