Hello from Palolem!!!!!
Been here abot 4 days now and it is a-ma-zing! Definitely the most beautiful place we have ever been! We're sitting in one of the many internet cafes that are just along the main beach road at the moment. So far we've been on a dolphin spotting trip for 3.50 each which was great. Up at 6.30 in the morning which wasn't great but it was def worth it. If you walk to the top of the beach you can also get a backwater boat trip for about 1.50 each with views of the Western Ghats and you get to see plenty of kingfisher birds and stuff...!!
Palolem is quite a lazy place, our days consist of sunbathing, eating, swimming, sunbathing, eating more and then bed! Lots of english people here not so many indian tourists and loooadds of beach sellers which are the most annoying people on earth. A polite 'no thankyou' isn't enough you need to be quite rude which we're both getting good at!! Damien still hasn't mastered it tho and isn't doing so well at haggling either. He also wants to stay about a mile away from any beach animal be it dog, cat or cow. Even really sweet baby cows (one licked my leg).
Before Palolem we were in Benaulim nearer the airport. An equally amazing beach with a really long quiet beach, def recommend it. Stayed at Paul Rinas quest house for 400 rupees a night or 6 quidish and had our own balcony and bathroom!!! Accommodation in Palolem is all beach huts, ours is 500 rupees and is quite big and with our own bathroom. The toilet doesn't flush and we have a resident cockroach who we named Wilfed to try and make him seem less scary. Damien had him crawl up his leg whilst he was showering the other morning...i know!
We're racing off of to dinner now and then the silent disco which is quite a famous party in Palolem! Catch up with everyone soooon, take care xxxxx
