Hi!
Cool to here from you! It is good to read you are having a good trip and that you were able to do the things you want! Funny you are heading the same way as we did.
The Blue Mountains were very beautifull, very worthy to drive up there! We did the walk past the Three Sisters, down the Giant Stairway (800 pcs) and walkingtrack to the Scenic Walkway. The track was also nice, but the Scenic walks (at the end of the track) are very touristic, not interesting). There a lot of more things to see around there and people told us you must not miss out on the caves (aboriginal's ofcourse). We didn't have the time unfortunately.
Sydney was nice, but we think enough for 2 days for us (we didn't go out or something). In the weekends people are going out to clubs (around Darling Harbour are the best ones; Chinese Laundry is one of them). But there you have to dress up and wear fancy shoes (not sneakers). If you just wanna have fun (and less expensive) go to Kings Cross (the students and backpackers part). Most hostels are there too, or are you staying at campgrounds?
Things you have to do: take the Manly ferry at wharf 3 at Circular Quay (good views over Sydney). At Manly there's a good beach and you can surf if you'd like.
Also nice are the Botanic Gardens, next to the Opera House. We had a dinner at the Sydney Tower, 250 meters above the city for 360 degrees view over the town, but you can also just go up there for (I think) 17 dollars or something and enjoy the view and do some kind of walk around the building (outside, but that costs extra). I think that's something for you guys! Or you can climb the Harbour bridge (that costs about 180 - 250 dollars, depending on the day and time). With nice weather go to Bondi Beach (take the train to Bondi Junction and there a bus to Bondi Beach). That's the real Australian way of beachlife...
I don't know how long you are staying but for 41 dollars you can buy a pass (at every station or wharf) which you can use for 7 days at all trains, buses and ferry's (including the Manly ferry).
Hope you have enough info. We wish you all the best in Sydney, have lots of fun and have a safe trip to Malaysia/Thailand! I will follow you on the net (cause I want to go to Malaysia some day too :))

Hey there! How have you all been?? As far as I can tell, you have visited Airlie Beach. Did you go diving? Are you in Hervey Bay now? Do you have a new car (I thought i saw it on the photo's in Christians blog)? And are you going to Fraser Island? I hope you will and you will have great weather there, like we did. We had an amazing time at Fraser Island! You can check our photo's if you'd like at jenl.reismee.nl. I promised I write it in your guestbook. I hope it's not too late! Have a great journey. We are off home :( Don't forget to leave a message at our blog or you can email; [email protected].
It will be nice to hear from you guys. |
See ya!

Hej drenge.
Håber I nyder turen. Det må være en fantatisk oplevelse. Er dog lidt bekymret for alle de naturkatastrofer derovre og nu melder de en ordentlig orkan, så pas godt på hinanden og forsat rigtig god tur.
Mange hilsner og tanker
Gitte.
