We have had such a great weekend her in Texas. We have made so many new friends and have had such fun on the trails in a variety of vehicles. The weather has been really hot and very sunny and the location was a beautiful spot with lots of pine trees and the trails went for about 100 miles altogether . The whole site was booked done the weekend and there were over 100 vehicles there. These were mostly discoverys and range rovers. We were invited to sit in with lots of people and had really good fun .
We ate huge meals and there were 2 big evening meals , 1 was mexican food and the other a BBQ . Each time there was loads of food and it was really delicious. This was prepared by a catering company who came in and then cleared up and went.
The tracks we went on were very demanding and I had my eyes closed for a lot of them when we climbed up gulleys and went from 4 to 2 wheels !!!! Some of the cars were huge and had vast tyres which meant they could go up seemingly impossible tracks.
We were invited back to the house of John and Lisa. John is originally from the UK and is such a nice person and Lisa is a lovelyTexan who has learnt to love things British too! both of them are so hospitable and are really looking after us here.
There were other ex Brits there too and it was strange to hear the accents among the wonderful Texan drawl.
Not sure where to next it will depend on whether we find someone to look at the truck as there aren't many who know diesel engines. Freddy is ok but not 100%
