hi everyone, sorry i havn't updated this sooner but ive been really busy having fun and havn't had many chances to get on to the internet. i arrived in wellington pretty late last night after fleaing napier and a f***ing crazy hill billy pumpkin farmer called arthur who wanted me anda couple of brummie lads to work for him forever and stay in his house with him and his wife, we decided it was a bad idea and caught the next bus out of town.
before that i spent some time in tongariro national park which is the location where they filmed mordor in the lord of the rings films, it was an amazing place and i camped out there on my own for a few days. there were just miles and miles of deserts and volcanoes and i wouldn't of been at all suprised to see an orc out there. even bettter than that was the fact that there was nobody else out there, i could walk all day and not see a single person just miles and miles of open wilderness. the photos should be amazing!
i spent the weeks before leaving for Tongariro in Waitomo, Rotorua, and Taupo. in Waitomo i had a go at some black water rafting, which involved abseiling 100ft down into a labrynth of caves and passageways where there were zip wires into the pitch black, underfround rivers which we floated and swam down and then finally finished climbing some huge under ground waterfalls! ws one of the most fun days ive ever had and was completely different to anything that ive ever done. in rotorua i went white water rafting and sledging down a grade 5 river which included a huge 7 meter waterfall, again it was a fantastic day especially because i got to do the sledging for free as there were too many people down to do rafting in the morning. then i left rotorua with the two brummie lads who i met in waitomo nad headed for Taupo (the skydive capital of the world) once we were there we decided that we had to do a skydive, ive never been so nervous about anything in my life ans the moment ehen you jump out tof the plane is the scariest thing ever! however the actuall freefall is amazing, because your so high you have no conception of the ground getting closer and so you feel more like your flying than falling, also the views from that height are amazing! we could see from one coast of the noth island to the other, i would definatly reccomend it to everyone.
now i'm in wellington where it seems to rain all the time, but will move onto the south island in the next couple of days.
will speak to you all soon enough, fred
