This morning, I dyed my hair. It is now 'mahogany'. In case you haven't seen me for a little while, I presently have reddy-brown shoulder length hair and a fringe going THE OTHER WAY.
So. After that interesting experience, I went and got myself a new sim card. Not sure if it's international, but if you want it, email me. Then I left off in search of Victoria station so I could buy an oyster card (what our failed myki system was modelled on - a public transport swipe card). I was supposed to walk to the nearest station [Putney Bridge], catch one train then switch. But the sold them at the Putney Bridge 'tube' so I bought one there instead.
My adventure cut short, I walked home via Upper Richmond rd [very posh] and discovered a variety of interesting things.
1. The British get excited about 22 degree days. This is hot for them, even when it is raining as it was today.
2. There is a pub called The Arab Boy [I was slightly appalled] that's tagline is 'probably the oldest pub in putney' [lol] and another called The Railway that sells a burger and a pint for £4.95 [sweet!].
3. The British pedestrian crossing system is manic and odd. I constantly think I'm about to be run over.
For those who don't know, I'm staying with my Aunt and Uncle in Putney [south west london]. Susan [Zue] and Francis [Franny] are thoroghly entertaining and I'm not sure if I'll ever want to leave :]
