I have had both the MOST HORRIBLE and loveliest past week.
First of all, I had to leave Edinburgh, which was terrible. To commiserate, I went out and got trashed [as you do]. Consequently, I woke up at 9am after five hours sleep, drunk. I ran around distributing goodbyes and shoved a 'breakfast roll' into my mouth. This consisted of bacon, sausage and mayo. definately felt like a good idea at the time. 20 minutes later on the bus, however, I wanted to shoot myself. To distract myself from the agony, I thought i'd look at my photo's. MY CAMERA SOMEHOW MANAGED TO DELETE EVERY SINGLE ONE. and then my ipod broke.
I arrived in Newcastle, sick and frustrated. without my ipod, what was I going to do for 5 frickin hours before my connecting bus arrived?? Pay £8 to store my luggage and walk aimlessly round a city that DOESN'T BELIEVE IN INTERNET CAFES. I actually asked a resident and she confirmed, Newcastle hasn't got a single internet cafe. jesus christ. Luckily, Chelsea called me and I b****ed and gossiped to her for 2 hours.
BUT. [yes, there is a but. it got worse.] my connecting bus never arrived. never. I waited at the stop for an hour. It was then 7.30pm on a friday night and I'd been up all day without eating anything but that lovely breakfast roll. I was stranded in the hole that is Newcastle. I had no phone credit, my phone card wouldn't work and by now all shops were closed. So, I spent 35 quid [70 aussie dollars] on a train ticket to a place that was AN HOUR AND A HALF AWAY. waited 2 hours for the train, which was late. realised at the last minute tat the board aid the train wasn't going to leeds - ran across the station with 2 suitcases to ask the desk, that told me I had to catch this train and change at york for a manchester train. GAHHHHHHH.
because the train was late, I missed the connecting train at york and thus had to wait 45 minutes for another, less direct, train to leeds. when I did get on the train, my f***ing shoe fell down between the train and the platform. AND THE PORTER TOLD ME TO LEAVE IT THERE. I flipped out and demanded someone get it for me. In total, I was travelling for 12 hours.
so. that was the horrible bit. The lovely bit was my big brother's wedding [my whole reason for going to Leeds in the first place]. Everything about it was beautiful! had an awesome time. check out the pics.
