From Bangkok To LA
Forgot to say in the last journal entry that when we went to the market in chaing rai- the boys ordered some fried creepy crawlies, and frank ate a cockroach thing, it was disgusting!!The others say that they were they best, compared to the worms and other things argh!!
The next day we had a pretty early start as we were going to the golden triangle.
The first place we stopped was a view point where you could see laos across the river!
After that we went to the golden triangle which is where you can see Burma, Laos and obviously Thailand, and it's where all three countries meet!In the photo it's Burma to the left and Laos to the right!
After that we went to an opium museum. It was quite interesting, and there were loads of bongs made out of bamboo!Don't worry parents, we won't get any ideas ("Strawberry?!?!")
Just outside the museum was the guardians of the buddha, which has the scariest elephants ever (they were fake, but there eyes were still pretty scary). There was also the golden Buddha for the golden triangle, which could be seen by Laos and Burma and he was massive!
After leaving the golden triangle we went to the border between Burma and Thailand. It was well expensive to go across so we decided just to do a bit of shopping at another market, however this time we bought a cd player, and it actually works!!
we went out that evening and we went to a bar in Chaing Rai, it was wicked because they had two little flop eared rabbits running around, and they loved us which is always good!
the next evening however was not quite as good, as we had an overnight train. Which was so noisy and hot it was unbelievable!!We were up at about 5am, but i think we were all pretty pleased just because the train was so bloody hot!
Now were back in bangkok. There was the biggest thunderstorm ever yesterday it was bloody scary. We were looking outside our balcony, when fork lightning struck about 20 metres away on someone's roof, but at the same time there was thunder. never seen frank move so fast as he ran inside! We watched from the window after that.
When it stopped raining we went down Khao san Road to buy some cds (again they work), and to get Frank a hair cut!
he's gone from having about a number 14 to a number 4-he looks like a thug hehe!!
We went out last night for the FA Cup final which was wicked. Becky also beat frank at table football haha!!
Today is our last full day in Thailand as we leave to go to Singapore tomorrow morning.
