Valerie Looks familiar! Having seen Tony's photos. It's great you've been able to contact each other at the other side of the world, never having met before it's amazing . We're all fine. Kathleen is settling into Nottingham Uni and liking it, Joanne is loving her apprenticeship and got her first salary on Friday. And as usual I'm still teaching, running, walking, cycling... etc Not long now till you come home. Did you get my e-mail about my 50th? I'm suggesting 16th, 23rd or 30th January. Know it's a bit far away for you!

Em and Jay Hi Frandy How was the train journey to UB? Are you enjoying Mongolia? We took our train to Lanzhou expecting it to arrive at 7.30pm the following day (as the girl at the Red Latern had said) but in fact we arrived at 7.30am!!!! We were still in bed and had a right panic packing our bags up when we realised! Lanzhou is a dump but has two great shopping centres so we've just been shopping and eating at KFC :-). We bought a 16G memory stick for £25, not bad and Em bought a fleece lined pair of thermals for a tenner. Oh, China has suspended issuing Tibet permits until 10 October and longer if anything kicks off during the National Day hols!!! What a nightmare. Plan B is to fly from China to Kathmandu but its going to cost around £750 for the both of us so we're in limbo at the mo. Anyway, it was great to catch up with you both in Beijing, we soooooooo enjoyed the walk on the Great Walk. Let us know what you're up to. Take care x x x

Well, just to make you envious Garth and I are heading off to Falkirk on the sleeper tonight for 4 glorious days of heavy rain...ancestory digging, not a great deal of other reasons to go there so I've been told! Lynn Hi both, How many times do I say wow or fantastic after looking at you photos! They are absolutely amazing. Sounds like you may find it very hard to tear yourselves away when it is time to come home. But lets not think about that yet. You both look so well.
