so we just finished our first full day in India and thought we ought to write a better blog than yesterdays. and so u know we managed to change hotels to a far nicer one this morning with better air con, cleaner, and where the electircs werent hanging out of the walls and actually looked useable!!
So today we did a bit of a sight seeing tour around delhi. We visited the red fort, someones tomb (cant say/spell the name, may tell u in a later entry), lotus temple, india gate, and parliment house (the presidential palace). the last two we only looked at from the outside, but we explored the other three places and even though they were in the middle of the city, at all of them the temperature seemed to cool down enough to make it more bearable which jon says is because there were no crowds and cars zooming around. its was lovely! i (fran) thought the tomb was the pmost beautiful and have several photos to show it. there were loads of chipmunks around too which was cool as they came quite close before running off. there were also lots of birds which we werent sure what they were - possibly buzzards, and three green parrots! very cool.
tomorro we are heading to jaipur (the pink city) in rajistan as we have arranged a personal tour type thing for the next 12 days, which will take us to jaipur, ranthambore national park, agra, khajuraho, varanassi and finally to bagdogra, from where we plan to make our own way to darjeeling then back to calcutta to continue our original route. and for this we dont get the hassle of finding our own transport or hotel for these 12 days as its all arranged - yay! but im sure url hear more about it as we move on.
dont forget u CAN leave us messages it is allowed.
we will try and add photos soon but cant b bothered right now! sorry! stay in touch,
