Up at 4.00am for reasons you will see later.
Picked up by 5.00am by the Tuktuk driver as promised, last night a porter delivered us a breakfast to take with us, Mmmmmm toasty sandwich which would have been better eaten when delivered.
Amazingly you always think your the only ones up but a whole barrage of Tuktuk drivers ate heading for Angkor Wat.
It's still pitch black when we arrive but as normal these places are set up with all you need, I had one of the best cappuccinos I've had for weeks.
We forgot a torch but needless to say you are hassled by sellers.
Most of the crowd that had arrived where positioned in front of the lake, perfect spot, but it's amazing how territorial everyone became, we are about to see one of the Seven Wonders of the world at sunrise and most of the crowd had lost there sense of humour. No accounting for folk.
It was great to be there, don't think it was the best sunrise but got good pictures glad I done it. Mikki and I walked around
For a couple of hours taking in the magnitude of it all, it was good to sit and have a quiet moment trying to imagine what it could have been like so many years ago.
Shamefully we were both happy to return back to the hotel after without going on to see more, it would have been quite a trek
Being as I hadn't had a great nights sleep, I have felt sick a few times whilst being away caused each time by tablets.
Mostly by malaria tablets but 48 hours ago I started taking some antibiotics I had brought with me as I have had a cough for ages, thought it would be good to lay off the beer for a week and try to shift it but they've made me feel so sick and stomach ache that I have thrown them. So think i will stick to the beer sounds a better idea.
Since returning I have sat around the pool and had a real lazy day, reading and sleeping.
Mikki and I are to catch up for supper later, we both have another early start of 6.00am tomorrow, she is off back to Brisbane and work, I'm so lucky, I'm off for another adventure to a place called Battambang taking a 5 hour boat journey to it, making my way once more back to Phnom Pen.
So adios amigos for now.
