After a great night's sleep at the Coral beach lodge, we drove to a local coffee house (yep, we drive because it's just too damn hot to walk!)
Shared a couple of pies at a famous local place - Mokka. A local Port institution, it's got it own local road signage.
Kangaroo and Crocodile Laksa. Very nice it was too.
Oh, and I spotted a Mini Moke! My second of the trip! This one looked resplendent.
Driving to Cape Tribulation, we stopped almost immediately at Mossman gorge - an aboriginal point of interest. However, it cost money, so we carried on.
Passing Daintry village, we took the Cape Tribulation Road... Which was incredibly scenic.
It cut through the northern wetlands by the coast. Apparently construction of this very road prompted the listing of the area as a World Heritage site, so no more roads could be built.
It also involved a ferry!
Once we arrived at Cape Tribulation, we had lunch at the backpacker hostel (very cheap) and headed on down to the beach.
By the time it had got to the beach, it was now incredibly hot and humid. But the beach was stunning. Such fine sand also... Like ground flour!
Then back to car after trying to visit the flying fox sanctuary. It was closed for renovation.
The rest of the day was chilled. We drove back to the hostel, via Woolworths, picking up food for dinner at our hostel in Port Douglas. Pasta and pesto!
However, it was still humid. When will this ever end?!
Off to Mission Beach tomorrow... Via some crocodiles!!
